The Gale River Motel is proud to support the efforts of the Bancroft House, a homeless shelter in Franconia, founded in 1982.
The mission of the Bancroft House is to provide sanctuary for women, children, and families who find themselves Barbara Drury, owner of Manilow’s Doggie Daycare first discovered the Gale River Motel back in 2003 and has been making anannual pilgrimages to the area since 2003.
In addition to calling the Gale River Motel – “Home” during these treks, A Guide to Finding the Elusive Moose – King of the Forest Moose are the largest animals in the NH forests and have no natural predators.
This means moose are not afraid of anything including vehicles traveling down the interstate.
The addition of the new solar photo-voltaic system designed to produce enough electricity to equal the annual consumption of electricity by the motel has catapulted the Gale River Motel to achieve Trip Advisor.com’s highest recognition for sustainable lodging.
As one of Green Lodging News, the lodging industry’s preeminent on-line publication focused on promoting and featuring sustainable lodging and dining practices nationally and internationally has featured the Gale River Motel in it’s January 1, 2016 e-newsletter.
Being featured in such a recognized The Gale River Motel has completed the installation of a photo-voltaic roof-top array which will provide energy to satisfy the year-round electrical demand of the property.
